Maurice Schuurmans – Biography
Co-Founder and CEO/CFO
After graduating his business administration and marketing studies in 1993, Maurice started his career in the industrial sector in 1994 where he managed and co-owned www.vacumetal.com, a well-equipped ISO 9001 surface treatment company.
Vacumetal is one of the leading manufacturers in the field of high tech UV metallization, coating and lacquering of plastics, glass and metals. Vacumetal has grown and developed into a highly qualified and recognized professional company, becoming a strategic partner for global leading companies in the cosmetic industry and several others. Vacumetal, with its 75 employees, excels in 24/7 mass production. The total production capacity is approx. 150 million pieces per year.
In 1996 Maurice started Champion Products together with his brother Gilbert Schuurmans; www.championproducts.eu is a worldwide leading manufacturer of trophy products for all trophy importers/wholesalers worldwide. It all began with the development of just 10 plastic trophy products which could be metalized by Vacumetal and expanded to an international company manufacturing currently more than 10.000 different trophy articles and a client portfolio of the largest and most successful wholesalers/importers in every country. CTP has production facilities mainly in China and Russia and supplies to more than 52 countries worldwide.
In 2006, Maurice Schuurmans started his activities with SD&P Global at first hand as an investor, and later became one of the owners of the company. From then on they started building the organization, invested in mobile technology and development and surrounded themselves with a highly professional and enthusiastic team of 25 employees. Maurice leads the executive team and focuses on the financials and the long-term opportunities of the company. SD&P www.sdp-global.com is a trendsetting, independent Internet media and entertainment company that develops mobile content & new media concepts for own use as well as for various businesses in the market. Besides constant concept and product innovation, SD&P’s company’s goals include rapid expansion of the operations and services to new countries on an global scale. As from January 2011 SD&P Global will market their products and services in Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Canada, Russia, Malaysia and Hungary. In 2011, the emerging markets Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Thailand and Poland will be opened for SD&P Global products as well.
Maurice ended his working relationship as owner/director after 16 years at Vacumetal and at Champion Products in June 2010, in order to focus on the development of new plans and projects within SD&P and beyond.
